Tips from Shay

I Issue You a Challenge...

...to Live Your Dream.

August 3, 2010
Several years ago my life hit a road block
Actually, it was more like a sinkhole.  It brought me to a complete stop.  I had to evaluate my life, make some difficult choices and become willing to change...drastically.  So, I did.

What an opportunity for growth and transformation.  Of course I didn't feel that way at the time but, now I'm eternally grateful for that which didn't kill me, because it did make me stronger.

But, I needed help.  And, a huge form of that help came in the form of a life coach.  For those of you who aren't familiar with what a life coach does, I'll give you my "layperson" version.

My life had no direction, I was unhappy and I felt stuck.  Very stuck.  My life coach talked to me about balance.  If one aspect of my life was consuming me, other aspects were being ignored.  In order to have harmony in my life, I needed balance in all aspects of my life (the whole pie.)

Well, that's all good and fine but, how do I get that precious balance?  Ahhh...I get quiet.  I listen to my heart and soul.  What's that dream that's always been in there but, I kept squashing because of fear and doubt.

We finally uncovered it, brought it into the light and then took baby steps towards making that dream a reality.

My life coach gave me homework and tasks, asked really hard questions, challenged me and held me accountable.

Recently, Life Coach, Susanna Liller interviewed me for some incredible work she's doing on the "Heroine's Journey."  http://www.susannaliller.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/August-Newsletter.pdf

Susanna's an incredible coach who's committed (and thrilled) to help women (and men) find their purpose in life, achieve their goals and live their dream.

Embarking on my personal and professional journey was difficult at first.  But, once I worked through that fear, I came to realize it was unrealistic fear and if I let it hold me back, it would smother my dreams for good.
What are your dreams?  What keeps bubbling up over and over again?  And, most importantly, what's holding you back?

We're not getting any younger and no one is going to achieve your dream for you so, I challenge you to take a first step...talk to someone about it. Get some feedback, brainstorm!  What's the worst that can happen?

"The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward." - Amelia Earhart.
